The Qatar under-17 national team has announced its final squad for the Gulf Under-17 Championship. The 23-player list, drawn from various Qatari clubs, was confirmed by coach Nicolás Arnaudo.
Qatar will host the second edition of the tournament in Doha from 16 October to 4 November. The hosts have been drawn in Group A alongside the UAE, Oman, Bahrain, and China. Group B consists of Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, Yemen, and Egypt.
The Squad
Players from Al-Arabi, Al-Sadd, Al-Duhail, Al-Ahli, and other Qatari clubs make up the selection. Al-Arabi contributes four players, while Al-Duhail supplies five. The squad announcement comes as the senior national team maintains an unbeaten run of four matches, with two wins and two draws in its most recent fixtures.
Tournament Path
The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout semi-finals. This youth competition provides a platform for emerging Qatari talent ahead of the senior team's next World Cup qualifier against Australia on 13 November. The host nation will aim to leverage home advantage for a strong performance in the regional championship.
