The Qatar national football team delegation arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday to begin preparations for the 27th Arabian Gulf Cup. Representatives from the tournament's organizing committee welcomed the delegation upon arrival at King Abdulaziz International Airport.
After completing arrival procedures, the team moved to its accommodation to start technical preparations for the competition, which officially begins on September 23 and runs until October 6. Jeddah is currently witnessing the successive arrival of participating Gulf teams as final preparations are completed to host the major football event for the first time in the city.
The Qatari squad is undergoing an intensive training program ahead of the group-stage matches, aiming to secure positive results to rebuild confidence after a difficult run in World Cup qualifying.
This gathering comes at a critical time ahead of the team's next qualifying match against Bahrain on September 24. The team's last five results have been challenging, with two draws and three defeats, the most recent being a 3-1 loss to Bosnia & Herzegovina in June.
The delegation confirmed the full presence of all technical and administrative staff members and all players in the closed training camp. This step aims to unify the squad and create an ideal atmosphere for focusing on the desired goal in the Gulf tournament. The list of players participating in the camp is available on the squad page.
Saudi Arabia is hosting the tournament for the first time amid full organizational and technical readiness to ensure the event's success. Qatar's participation represents an opportunity to demonstrate the team's progress and improve its trajectory before resuming World Cup qualifying campaigns.
