Saudi U18 Handball Team to Face Qatar in Asian…

The Saudi U18 handball team will face Qatar tomorrow in Amman for the opening match of the Asian U18 Championship, running from 20 to 31 August. The squad will then play Iran on 21 August, Syria on 23 August, and conclude the group stage against Kuwait on 26 August, aiming to reach the quarter-finals and qualify for the World Championship for the fourth time.

Preparations Before the Tournament

The Saudi U18 handball team’s administrative staff completed a comprehensive preparation program before the tournament began. This included a 21-day external camp in Slovenia, during which the squad played several friendly matches, as well as internal gatherings and camps aimed at boosting the players’ technical and physical readiness.

Opening Match

The Saudi U18 team is set to face Qatar tomorrow, Wednesday, in the Jordanian capital Amman, as part of the first group-stage match in the 11th Asian U18 Championship. The game will take place in Amman and marks the beginning of Saudi Arabia’s campaign in the tournament.

Saudi Team’s Plans

Following the opening match, the Green team will play Iran on Friday, 21 August, then Syria on Sunday, 23 August, and will conclude the preliminary phase against Kuwait on Wednesday, 26 August. Saudi Arabia aims to start strong against Qatar to boost its chances of reaching the quarter-finals and to compete for one of the qualification spots for the World Championship for the fourth time in its history, after previous appearances in 2019, 2023, and 2025.
