The Qatar national football team lost 6-0 to Canada in the FIFA World Cup 2026, after a match that saw two players sent off from the Qatari team. Jonathan David scored a hat-trick, while Nathan Silba added the fourth goal, before Mohammed Al-Manaei scored an own goal in his own net. The Canadian win started in the 16th minute, when Cyle Larin took the lead, before Jonathan David added the second goal with a rocket shot in the 29th minute. Hamam Al-Amin was sent off in the 33rd minute, after obstructing Cyle Larin, who was on his way to face the Qatari goalkeeper Mahmoud Abu Nada. Jonathan David scored the third goal for Canada in the 45+3 minute, from a follow-up on the goal line after a ball rebounded from Abu Nada. The start of the second half was painful for the Qatari team, as they suffered another blow in the 54th minute, when their player Assim Madibo received a direct red card, after a violent intervention against Canadian player Ismail Koneh. Nathan Silba scored the fourth goal for Canada in the 64th minute, from a direct free kick. Mohammed Al-Manaei added to the Qatari team's woes by scoring an own goal in the 75th minute. Jonathan David completed Canada's six goals and his personal hat-trick in the 90+2 minute, to end the match with a historic 6-0 win for the hosts.
